Natural Spray to Eliminate Pet Odors

Our furry friends are valued members of the family, though we have to admit, they're usually the smelliest ones.

Pet lovers everywhere understand the struggle: frantically vacuuming, collecting hair from the carpet and furniture, and lighting candles before guests arrive. Somehow, pet odors just tend to linger. The problem is, a lot of store-bought fresheners include questionable chemicals, and they can be expensive compared to this recipe.

Try this natural DIY remedy for getting rid of pet odors with just a few ingredients. It's a natural solution to a natural problem, and you probably already have most of these items in your home. Easy!

Brentwood Home Pet Bed Natural Room Spray

Ingredients:

  • Spray bottle (Go green by finding an old one laying around, cleaning it thoroughly, then reuse for this project)

  • Water

  • Baking soda

  • Your favorite essential oil

Combine

First, add 1 tbs. baking soda to your spray bottle, followed by 16 oz. (or two cups) of warm water. Finish it off with a generous amount of your favorite essential oil. For a light scent, just add a few drops, but we added close to 10, and you can keep adding until it reaches your desired strength. We chose lavender for our batch, as the fragrance is known to have a calming effect.

Shake

Shake it all up! Seal the bottle tight, and shake until the baking soda has dissolved.

Spray

This is the fun part! Spray the mixture on furniture, in the air, on your rugs and curtains, and of course on your Brentwood Home pet bed. You'll be left with a fresh, customized scent in your home, without having to use any harsh chemicals around your family.
